Ginger effects on menstrual pain

According to a study published in November 2014. Ginger supplementation is effective in riding menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea). Dysmenorrhea affects more than 50% of menstruating women, with some studies ranging from 29% to as high as 90%. The study included 122 female students with moderate to severe primary dysmenorrhea. Random subjects received a very expensive non-steroidal
anti-inflammatory drug in the amount of 250mg per day and the other subjects took
250 mg ginger every 6 hours. The researchers determined that the severity of menstrual pain, pain duration, cycle duration and bleeding volume was not significantly different between the two groups. Researcher concluded "Ginger" is as affective as metchamic acid pain medication.
